How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

01

Free discovery call

15 minutes by phone or video. Tell me what’s going on and I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.

02

Intake and records

You get a secure Practice Better link for your health history. Recent bloodwork helps: A1C, fasting glucose, cholesterol, TSH, whatever you have.

03

First session, 60 minutes

We go through your history, your numbers and your usual day of eating, and agree where to start.

04

Follow-ups, 30 or 60 minutes

We review what worked and what didn’t, and adjust. How far apart we meet depends on what you need — we decide that together.

Session one

What your first session is like.

Sixty minutes, at your pace. You don’t need to prepare anything elaborate, and you won’t be weighed unless you want to be.

Before

Complete the intake form in Practice Better. Gather recent lab results and a list of your medications and supplements.

During

We talk about your diagnosis, medications, family history, work, sleep, and what a normal day of eating looks like, including the foods that matter to you. I explain your numbers in plain language.

After

You leave with a short list of specific changes to start with, and notes in your Practice Better portal. Your plan is written around your goals, your routine and the food you already eat, and it explains the reasoning behind each change — not just what to do, but why.

Insurance

Direct billing to most Canadian insurers.

Dietitian services are covered by many extended health plans, through work or bought privately. I bill most insurers directly.

  • Check your plan covers a “Registered Dietitian” and how much per year
  • Bring your insurer’s name and your plan and member numbers to session one
  • If I can’t bill your insurer directly, you get a receipt to submit yourself
  • Direct billing covers most of the major Canadian insurers — ask about yours on the discovery call
A client’s experience
“Before working with Noura, I struggled to manage my blood sugar levels and felt overwhelmed by all the conflicting nutrition advice. My energy levels have improved, and my A1C has gone down significantly! More importantly, I feel confident in managing my diabetes every day.”

Contact
Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No. You can book directly. Some insurance plans ask for a referral before they reimburse dietitian services, so check your plan’s wording.

Is this covered by OHIP?

No. Dietitian services in private practice aren’t covered by OHIP. Many extended health plans do cover them, and I bill most Canadian insurers directly.

What if you can’t bill my insurer directly?

You pay at the session by e-transfer or credit card, and I give you a receipt to submit to your plan.

Is a virtual session as good as in person?

The session is the same. Virtual sessions run on Practice Better’s secure video, so you only need a phone or computer. In-person sessions are available too — I’ll share the location once we’ve had the discovery call.

Will I get a meal plan?

You’ll get a plan, but usually not a rigid seven-day menu. We start from how you already eat and change what matters most. If a structured meal plan would help you, we can build one.

I take insulin or diabetes medication. Is that a problem?

Not at all. It means we plan changes carefully, and I coordinate with your prescriber when food changes could affect your doses.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals and your numbers. Most people come for about four sessions. You decide how often we meet.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
